Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook has said that focusing on the open web standards instead of native mobile apps had delayed the company’s development by over two years.
Zuckerberg speaking recently at Tech Crunch Disrupt conference acknowledged that he had made the early mistake of using HTML5 instead of immediately creating apps for Apple and Android phones.
Zuckerberg said, of the company’s decision to create mobile apps using open web standards instead of building apps specially designed for iPhone and Android smartphones. “We will most likely look back and say that was the biggest strategic mistake we made,”
Zuckerberg re-emphasised “I live on my mobile device” and, that the company was now integrating mobile into every aspect of its business..
