Ad network Chitika has released new figures indicating that users of the Android OS clicked on ads 81% more often than iPhone users.
Chitika examined click rates across their ad network, their sample based on 1,365,776 impressions. Click through rates for the iPhone came in at 0.65% compared with Android’s click rate of 1.19%
While iPhone ad impressions were low, users of the iPad tablet came out more likely to click on ads, with a click through rate of 1.01%.
A spokesperson for Chitika commented in a blog post that: “it is obvious that Android users should be high up on the list of targets for mobile advertisers.”
