I have just been listening to a fantastic resource for Mobile Recruiters; a webinar by Recruiting Consultant, Mobile Evangelist and Digital Media junkie, Michael Marlatt. His blog has some excellent mobile resources which is worth many a visit.
Michael was recently invited by ERE Media and Taleo to speak on the topic of mobile recruiting in America. His webinar entitled ‘Mobile Recruiting: Are we there yet?’ provides a really comprehensive overview of how mobile is evolving and how it fits perfectly into a recruitment strategy. You can find the slides for the presentation on Slideshare, and the webinar is available to view in full via his blog. It provides excellent stats on mobile, and some interesting American case studies on mobile recruiting.
One of my favourite slides, I have regurgitated in part below, for a simple take away of why mobile is so important for recruiters:
The Benefits of Mobile Recruiting
1. Personalised and Private.
2. Flexible and Timely.
3. Easy to ‘group broadcast’ via push job alert notifications, special event announcements, careers fairs, campus recruiting etc.
4. Easily integrates with online and offline marketing channels.
5. Mobile offers highly measurable and accurate reporting.
6. Mobile is cost saving vs traditional marketing methods.

Sarah, thanks so much for the shout-out and great mention on your site. I’m honored!
As employers, we have a great opportunity to leverage mobile technology as part of our overall recruitment strategy. Mobile technology has developed to the point where it’s not just useful, but fun. Beyond messaging, there are many other interesting topics (e.g., mobile apps, mobile social, etc) and it’s all advancing faster than we can keep up. There’s so much room to get creative on how integrate mobile because it’s such an untapped platform for our industry.
It’s great to see this topic finally getting the attention it deserves. Kudos to Dave Martin and your team for continuing to drive this topic forward!
Cheers-
